“We need to talk!”. Feet off the table. Yes, dear fellow traveler, you are meant. Now straight out talking. There is a lot that has been swept under the carpet. Too much that has been kept secret. True which wants to be heard.
It’s time to share it. Grab a tea. Or make yourself a coffee. Or if the café around the corner is open, let’s meet there. See you then!

Life is full of stories. I look around and see one story after another passing by. And the exciting thing is: which plot line do I follow further? Do I let myself be carried away by a story? Or is my focus on another one? And for me, in my own story, I can decide when to start a new chapter. And so it means to end another chapter. It always fascinates me: this form, which we call “life”. And I discover countless new stories every day.
Of course we don’t have to talk. I just enjoyed getting into an article more dramatically. My goal is to include a variety of influences here in the blog. This platform grows with the journey, so to speak. Travel means encounters. Share life with each other. Now I am well aware that we are not sitting in the same café and talking about ‘all the world and his brother’. However, I would like to try to what extent it is possible to have such a conversation. And to create the connection. Yes, as if we’re sitting at the same table and sharing our thoughts. This virtual world also has its good side. It is now possible for us to be connected at this moment. How about we playfully deal with this connection and use it to be closer together rather than isolated. After all, we are alone in front of a screen when we scrolling through the Internet.
What ideas do you come up with? How can we use the virtual world together for this?
Leap of thought: Funny. So I invited you to go on a journey through our world. And also through the world of fantasy and thought. And I have left out what unites us now. The virtual world.
Back to the topic. I warmly invite you to a virtual get-together. Have a coffee together, despite the physical distance. A deceleration. Meet. I have a few suggestions for this.
An exchange of letters. Letters have been a special form of communication for ages. Can you still remember the first letter you received? The first love letter you wrote? What?! You have never written a love letter before? Then immediately get to the pen and paper. Give the feeling of your heart words for people who have a great meaning in your life. Yes. There is something magical about letters. But unfortunately the paper form is out of the question for me. I use the usual email. An exchange of letters on a virtual level. I like to go with you. And, after consultation, publish here on the blog. Just write me an email to Großstadt-Pocahontas (email address see in the section “Kontakt“).
And what you can also write to me are tips and recommendations for the country in which I am currently located. Perhaps you have already been there and have one or two secret information that you would like to give me. I’m currently in Egypt and I’m always looking forward to what I can get to know.
If you are interested in Egypt or have any questions and would like to read my impression, please let me know. It will then be a good idea to take up the topic and write an article about it.
And finally, tell me about something bizarre that you experienced or discovered while traveling. Suitable for the section “3 bizarre from …”

Egypt:
German license plates peeping out from under the Egyptian number plates. Yes, someone can explain that to me. Is it cool to show that the car comes from Germany and therefore I just leave the license plate on? Am I just too lazy to remove it? Or is it a delusion? And I got a fake license plate to upgrade my car?
Christmas lights. I thought my father was the master of all records when it comes to hanging the Christmas lights. When I was a child, my dad used Christmas lights to decorate the fir-tree in the front yard. The lights shone beautifully and brought a contemplative atmosphere. Until July. Then he gave himself a jerk and removed the lighting. And I was certain that no one had hung Christmas lights for so long. Well. Until I came to Egypt. Some balconies and entrances sparkle here as if they want to invite you to the next techno party. Christmas lights all year long. Now the Egyptians are my masters of fairy lights.
The loudspeakers at the mosques. If you are lucky, you will be far enough from the loudspeaker at the moment when the muezzin starts calling. I haven’t had this luck for about a month. I live on the second floor. Right over a mosque. Now you have to imagine this mosque in such a way that it is a space that is integrated into the house. Only with extra entrance. And there is prayer on the street. Countless prayer rugs with men on them block the street during Friday prayer. Lured by the call of the muezzin. And that call was right outside my bedroom window. During the day, it’s all well and good. But if you get woken up in the middle of the night because the loudspeaker is next to your bed, the whole thing looks different. I’m brooding. The muezzin’s voice is not even inviting. A croak made a noise in my bedroom. I am aware that in this sense it is not a song, but the man’s vocal cords should join in doing this task of reciting. And I think further: suppose his voice would welcome me. Then everything would be destroyed by the speakers. Speakers that probably date from the pharaohs period. A tinny sound that tears your eardrums. It is estimated that there is a mosque of this kind in every third street. With clattering speakers. Just to give you an idea of how many speakers are competing to be able to make a sound. Now that public spaces have been closed, the mosque in my house is closed too. I enjoy sleeping all night long again. Without pondering the guerrilla action in which I kidnap the speakers.

This blog gets new influences. Let’s see what works and what we do. And if you still have ideas for a kind of interactive travel blog, just get out. I look forward to a cozy round in which we can exchange ideas. If you would like to support me in any other way, you can invite me for a coffee. On a virtual level. You can find this principle of the coffee break in the lower section of the “Kontakt” section.
With a smile because the anticipation of the change is spreading, I say goodbye for today. We stay connected. And it goes on: off to new adventures. No matter whether virtual, dreamy or real. Maybe we’ll only know at the end which of all of this made the most sense. Maybe just a lovely coffee break.
