Dear fellow travelers,
I would have loved to tell you the story in one part. Uncomplicated and with a swing through. But then maybe the story wouldn’t be worth telling and you wouldn’t have gotten detailed snippets of this airplane trip. Or maybe the travel spirit of Großstadt-Pocahontas, just attracts to stories that resemble an adventure.

Either way, where did we leave off?
Ah yes, the border policeman. The man who vacillates between ignoring and threatening. And only occasionally pays attention.
Even when I got off the plane, I gave up looking at the clock. The clocks tick differently here. Like now. I let time be time and wish for the solution of this problem. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle where the last few pieces still need to be put in place to make it complete. A puzzle where hopefully the last piece is not missing. A piece that in the form of an “invitation”, is not there.
A clear difference to Europe is that there is a way, besides the paper matters.
The situation is unchanged, so initiative comes into play and the phone is picked up. At the other end of the line is now the Senegalese boss of my heart man. A person with certain influence and also with a corresponding position of power. Thus it turns out that another joker was in the game, which could be pulled with surprise for both sides.
The border policeman is talking with the man on the phone and our passports in his pocket a few steps away. He is probably listening to the words rather than having the big conversation part. A few minutes pass. The conversation is over.
The border policeman is as if changed. Accompanied by him, we go to the luggage conveyor belt. He notices that there is no entry stamp in my passport. This has to be changed and he takes care of it personally, asking for a moment’s patience. But after a short time he solemnly waves the passport, which he hands over after showing the stamp.
So here I am. Once again: Africa!
The end.

Of course, this is not the end in the true sense of the word. It is only the beginning of countless stories that will be collected in this part of the world.
It’s nice that you are part of it. Even if no more articles have appeared due to a longer writing break. Grpßstadt-Pocahontas thanks for the bond on your part. And an extraordinary thanks goes to all those who support Großstadt-Pocahontas on Patreon – no matter what. 1000 thanks.
With a heartfelt bond,
