02.02.2020 The first day in Egypt. Straight to the pyramids. With a meditation group.

Listen to the history of the land.

Once upon a time … a girl. She is sitting in school. Geography. The wooden chair is uncomfortable. After just ten minutes. Still 35 minutes left. Phew. She listens to the teacher who talks about the Nile Delta. Think of the pyramids. Recalls the history of Asterix and Obelix with Cleopatra(a Comic). Look out the window. The sun shines on her face. As if the rays want to lure the girl out. She would like to be there now. Outside. With her friends. In the sun. Make her own experiences. Walking through the world with her eyes open. Through the hometown. Out. In the region. Get to know the country in which she lives. Further to other countries. To foreign cultures. Other languages. Smells. The atmosphere. She travels the world. And stands in front of the pyramids. Snap! A crocodile almost caught her. She runs away. Brought to safety, she now sees the vast surroundings. Desert sand. A river. That must be the Nile. An impressive stone lion watches over the desert. Larger than many buildings that she knows. He seems to be ruling regally. Sincere and loyal. She walks over to him and bows. She feels inside that he knows her. She can step closer. A stone board, like an antique computer, is in her field of vision. If only she could read what’s on it. A riddle for her. And another follows. There they are: the pyramids. Breathtaking. In perfect symmetry. Mystical.

Mystical. In the middle of the night. Only the tour group and me. Free from tourists. No souvenir sellers. Mystical. Like the whole day at the pyramids. A piece of earth that holds so many secrets. And I think to myself: how nice it is to discover the world unbiased. That’s how I prefer to approach people: openly and without prejudice. I want to get to know them. Get to know places in this way. Without what I was hammered one day. Without my feeling that I need to know something about every stone. Just get to know each other. With an open mind and a clear eye. With a feel for the environment. Why do we humans think we are so smart, smart and omniscient? In view of the pyramids, I find today’s humanity extremely stupid. Sciences trying to explain the creation of the pyramids. Yes: try. Dangerous half-knowledge of its existence. Perhaps just a fraction of the truth as to why these structures were erected that are revealed to the public. And why? Because our civilization is still in its infancy? We make ourselves comfortable. Accept what was chewed. Where is the space for the world’s mysticism? Where the openness? Just get involved and get to know it.

After spending the day at the pyramids. Feeling the sand under the feet. Breathe the dry desert wind. The propotions between pyramid block and human seen. And stayed in a pyramid. In silence. Darkness. Heat. A humility that comes up. After all these experiences and impressions in one day, I am exhausted. A nice exhaustion. One that creates satisfaction. A pleasure to finally be in this place. To have experienced this energy. And this mysticism. I got to know them in a special way. A lot of things that I read once make sense. Not much at all. Through my own learning, I now know a place that has given me a few secrets. I fall asleep happily.

Cairo in front of me. Pyramids in the back.

Arriving dreamily in reality, the girl looks at the blackboard. What is written on it is incomprehensible to her. The hieroglyphic writing on the tablet in Egypt is now more understandable. A country before our time. A time that she got to know.
